email:Socrates Saunders is a former math professor at Morgan State University in Baltimore, he earned a doctorate in education and another in mathematics. He has retired to the Pittsburg area.
Saunders was the descendent of a slave who arrived, from Africa, in Charleston, South Carolina in 1790. The daughter of that slave is Tracie Martin, sold, Dec. 17, 1799, to John Martin of Fairfield County, S.C. Socrates Saunders is a descendent of Tracie.
