A Calculus Joke:  A fat mathematician and a fat physicist agree to a psychological experiment. The mathematician is put in a chair in a large empty room and a fork and a fine slice of cheese cake is placed on a table at the other end of the room. The fat psychologist explains, "You are to remain in your chair. Every five minutes, I will move your chair to a position halfway between its current location and the cheese cake on the table."
The mathematician looks at the psychologist in disgust. "What? I'm not going to go through this. You know I'll never reach the table!" And he gets up and storms out.
The psychologist makes a note on his clipboard and ushers the physicist in. He explains the situation, and the physicist's eyes light up and he starts drooling. The psychologist is a bit confused. "Don't you realize that you'll never reach the cake?" The physicist smiles and replied, "Of course! But I'll get close enough for all practical purposes!"

2. Determination of course grade

• There will be no make-up exams for any reason. If you missed it, it is a 0. If I am given 7 days warning, I will give any pre-final tests at a time, to be arranged by mutual agreement , prior to the time of the class test.
• There will be FIVE TERM EXAMS. Your course grade is determined by four term exam scores. EXAM FIVE IS REQUIRED and is worth 25%. (The best THREE of the first FOUR term exams are each worth 25% of your course grade
• ALL EXAMS ARE culminative.
• The grade of Incomplete can only be awarded: after the final date for resignation & before classes end to a student who does not have a failing average on the TOTAL of the first exams given up to the time of request.
