Integration

We now turn attention to numerical integration. Recall from calculus that you can approximate a definite integral tex2html_wrap_inline451 by dividing [a,b] into N subintervals, say of equal length tex2html_wrap_inline455 , and approximating the area under f by summing the areas of regular regions, e.g. rectangles. To approximate the height of a rectangle, you could use the value of f at the left or right endpoints.
