Material to be covered: In the fall through the spring semester we will cover chapters 0 thru 3 of Hatcher's book chapters 1-2 of Guillemin/Pollack's book. Students are responsible for all material that is covered in lecture.

Assignments: Homework will be assigned bi-weekly and is required to be handed in on time.

Grading: There will be bi-weekly homework, two midterms and a final exam, weighted using the formula; homework=25% , each midterms=25%, and the final exam=25%. The midterms will be given in lecture.

Dates to remember: Friday, November 9th- Last day to drop the course.
Friday, November 9th- Last day to resign from the course.
