Textbook
           A Course in Functional Analsysis     by Conway, 2nd edition.
Course Description
This is the first semester of a one-year course. Functional analysis studies linear spaces with a topology or two. It is a large area of mathematics now. We shall discuss Hilbert spaces, Banach spaces, their duals, and linear operators on them.
Homework and Exams
No exams. There will be two or three homework sets. The grades are based on the homework.
Prerequisite
MTH 631 and 632: real and complex analysis.
