1. This is the second course in a sequence of two (Math 649-650) but this course does not draw heavily from the material in Math 649.

In Math 650, we will cover Chapter 4, and portions of
Chapters 5, 6 and 7. In Math 649, material from Chapters 1 through 3 was discussed.

3. Homework problems will be given regularly
in class. The assignments will
be collected and graded, and will be returned.
4. There will be a midterm exam (take home)
and a final exam (take home).
Your course grade will be determined as follows:
40% homework + 30% midterm exam + 30% final exam
Letter grades (plus and minus) will
be given unless S/U grading was chosen at the beginning of the term.
5. My office is in the Mathematics building,
room 226, and office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 11 to 12.
