Textbook

J. Stewart, Multivariable Calculus: Early Transcendentals , 6th edition.

Note: the UB custom 6th edition (which has a different cover) is identical to the standard 6th edition.

Maple Some lectures will be illustrated with calculations done in Maple - a powerful mathematical computation software. You will not be required to work with Maple on your own, but you may want to try it anyway. It is available at all public CIT sites. You can also buy a one year license for Maple at UBMicro for a nominal charge.

Maple worksheets used in class will be available for downloading on the Schedule page.

Homework

Homework problems will be assigned each Thursday and will be collected after class the following Thursday. Graded assignments will be distributed during recitation sessions. Only selected homework problems will be graded.

Recitation sessions will be devoted to answering any questions regarding homework problems you may have.

Math Help Center The Math Help Center is one more place (beside recitations and office hours) where you can look for assistance with math questions. It will start September 8, and will be open daily at 9AM-4PM in the Math Building, rooms 107 and 110.
