    • 241H: MWF 3:00-3:50pm, 250 MATH
  • Text: Multivariable Calculus, UB Edition 6e, by James Stewart.
  • Syllabus: Sections 12.1-6, 13.1-13.4, 14.1-14.8, 15.1-15.9, 16.1-16.9.
  • READ AHEAD IN THE BOOK to get the most out of lectures!
  • Prerequisites: MTH142 with grade C or higher.

  • Tests: There will be 4 in-class 50 minute tests during the semester. ID's will be checked at each exam. Approximate dates: Sep 21, Oct 12, Nov 12, Dec 5
  • There will be no final exam.
  • Quizzes will be given every week in recitation session, except for the test weeks. Additionally, there may be given some very short in class quizzes as well.
  • Homework problems are posted below. They are not collected nor graded. The tests and quizzes are based on these homework problems.
  • Online Homework: http://www.webassign.net Your login is your email login. Name of the institution: buffalo. Password: Your student id number. After you enter this data you will be asked for the code which your received with your textbook.
  • Final grade will be based on in-class quizzes and HW, 20%, and the best of
    • the best three tests, 20% each, and recitation quizzes, 20%, or
    • four tests, 20% each.
  • 90% guarantees A if you receive at least 75% on last test
  • 88% guarantees A- if you receive at least 60% on last test
  • 85% guarantees B+, 82% B, 79% B-, 76% C+, 72% C, 68% C-, 64% D+, 60% guarantees D.

Example: If you have 90% of total points in class but you receive only 55% on last test then your grade will be B+. Some modifications of the above rules are possible.
