How to set up a Windows XP PC to use printerd in Room 205, Aug. 22 2008 B.H.

This printer prints two-sided (duplex)

First, visit http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/downloads.asp?tsn=Ricoh-USA&path=http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/rc2/model/cl410/cl410en.htm
and download the Microsoft Windows XP Postscript3 Driver,
then execute this file, which will unzip a collection of files.
Save the collection in a convenient location.

One of these files will be called SETUP.EXE.
Execute this file, which will start the Add Printer Wizard.

When "Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard" appears, click on Next >

Select the option "Local printer attached to this computer" and click on Next >
Remark: Yes, for Windows XP this is the correct choice.

Select "Create a new port:", and then
Type of port: "Standard TCP/IP Port"

When "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" appears, click on Next >

Enter the following information:

Printer Name or IP Address: 128.205.113.1
Port Name: jetdirectd
Then click on Next >
If a Program Control window appears, allow Explorer.EXE to access the Internet.

The window, "Completing the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" should show,

SNMP: Yes
Protocol: RAW, Port 9100
Device: 128.205.113.1
Port Name: jetdirectd
Adapter Type: Hewlett Packard JetDirect
Click on "Finish"

The "Add Printer Wizard" appears.

Select from the pull-down menu
the printer RICOH Aficio SP C410DN PS

Under Printer Sharing, select Do not share.
Click on Next>

Name your printer "printerd".

Your printer should now be installed, but your system does not yet
know there is an extra print tray
and duplex printing available.

My Computer -> Control Panel -> printing -> printerd
Properties -> Device Settings -> Tray 2 -> Letter
Printing Preferences -> Finishing -> Print on Both Sides (D) -> Long Edge binding

Print a test page.
If program control window appears, allow Microsoft Printer Spooler Service to access the internet.
