This printer prints one-sided
Do the following:
Start -> Printers and Faxes -> Add a printer
When "Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard" appears, click on Next >
Select the option "Local printer attached to this computer" and
click on Next >
Remark: Yes, for Windows XP this is the correct choice.
Select "Create a new port:", and then
Type of port: "Standard TCP/IP Port"
When "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" appears, click on Next >
Enter the following information:
Printer Name or IP Address: 128.205.113.20
Port Name: jetdirectc
Then click on Next >
If a Program Control window appears, allow Explorer.EXE to access the Internet.
When the Additional Port Information Required window appears,
highlight the button Device Type Standard, selectHewlett Packard JetDirect
The window, "Completing the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard"
should show,
SNMP: No Protocol: RAW, Port 9100 Device: 128.205.113.20 Port Name: jetdirectc Adapter Type: Hewlett Packard JetDirectClick on "Finish"
The "Add Printer Wizard" appears.
Select from the pull-down menus, the Manufacturer Hewlett Packard and the Printer HP Series 3700 PS
Under Printer Sharing, select Do not share.
Click on Next>
Name your printer "printerc".
Your printer should now be installed, but your system does not yet
know there is an extra print tray
and duplex printing available.
My Computer -> Control Panel -> printing -> printerd
Properties -> Device Settings -> Tray 2 -> Letter
Printing Preferences -> Finishing -> Print on Both Sides (D) -> Long Edge binding
Print a test page.
If program control window appears, allow Microsoft Printer Spooler Service to access the internet.
