Research

Current reseach interest concerns efficient support of large-scale cooperative applications. The overall objective is to provide users with the appropriate quality of cooporation at a cost that is acceptable to them.

Current research projects are BOAR, LaSCoW and Relais. BOAR aims at providing an infrastructure for building flexible replicated objects. LaSCoW focuses on large-scale collaborative editing. Relais aims at augmenting the reliability and the administrability of the World-Wide Web.

In the past, he participated to three major projects. He was one of the designers of SOS, in particular, he designed and implemented the SOS communication subsytem. Secondy, during my post-doc at Cornell, he developed (with Prof. Ken Birman) the longhaul stuff of the Isis system, version 2.1. With Hervé Soulard, he designed BOSS, an infrastructure support for flexible persistent objects.
